Jordyn Hayashi

Jordyn Hayashi

Sport: Volleyball

The performance: Hayashi doesn’t stuff the stat sheet with kills like some of her teammates, but the sophomore libero does all the dirty work – a fact that doesn’t escape her coaches.

After a BIIF season-opening victory against Kamehameha, Waiakea coach Ashley Hanohano pointed to Hayashi as the player who stood out the most.

In the final BIIF match of the season, Hayashi stood out again, notching 23 digs to lead a strong defensive effort as Waiakea ended Kamehameha’s five-year reign atop the Division I.
